I can't bring up the control centre using the hotkey combo.
I'm using the trial version.
 
Any ideas?

It seems your Spy Lantern Keylogger is blocked partly by some anti-virus or anti-spyware software.
 
So now please uninstall trial version (you can do that from the trial warning message - "Uninstall" button)) and then  reinstall program once again.
 
After the program reinstall you will need to add Spy Lantern Keylogger to the exclusion list of your installed anti-virus or anti-spyware software. To get complete Spy Lantern Keylogger filename and path for exclusion list please go to:
 
SLK Contol Center -> Menu-> File -> Program Files Information
