Title: MusicMatch Jukebox Post by gw342 on Jun 26th, 2005, 12:19am Hello, I am curious if the Musicmatch file "KeyBoardHookDLL" is a key logger? If so, do you think/know if it is malicious? Thanks, gw |

Title: Re: MusicMatch Jukebox Post by gw342 on Jun 26th, 2005, 4:56pm Whenever I open the MusicMatch Jukebox, the AAK displays that it blocked the "KeyboardHookDLL" file. The file is exactly as follows: c:\Program Files\MUSICMATCH\MUSICMATCH Jukebox\KeyboardHookDll.dll I did find that file listed on a Pest Patrol link which stated it was not malicious. I would not think Musicmatch Jukebox to be logging everybody's keystrokes, but, then again, ? The AAK also blocks a file whenever I open Yahoo IM, too. That file is: c:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\idle.dll I will research that file too. |

Title: Re: MusicMatch Jukebox Post by gw342 on Jun 26th, 2005, 5:58pm Ok, according to tid bits from WinTasks5.0 Professional, LOL, they say it is completely innocuous...no harm turning it off or even deleting it. But I still do not know what it does. I allowed the AAK to block it, and the Yahoo IM works fine. |

Title: Re: MusicMatch Jukebox Post by Eric on Jun 28th, 2005, 2:33am Most likely this DLL file is part of "MUSICMATCH Jukebox" software and our Advanced Anti keylogger blocks it because KeyboardHookDLL uses some way to watch your keyboard activity. Actually Advanced Anti Keylogger blocks attempts of keyboard activity monitoring for absolutely all applications (either legal or malicious) and works like personal keyboard firewall. So you can leave this rule if prohibited KeyboardHookDLL file doesn't effect to normal operation of your "MUSICMATCH Jukebox" software (exactly like for your c:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\idle.dll :-) |
