I have a Ibm thinkpad it is three years old and i bought it at the flee market. my problom is this when i turn the power on the ibm think pad picture shows on the screen then the screen turns black with a LOCK SYMBOL ON THE TOP LEFT HAND OF THE SCREEN. So how do i get past this point so i can load bios and/or the operating system. I have tried taking the batteries out, including the little clock batt. Including the memory, hard drive, network card,cd/dvd drive and some kind of other chip that was on the back of the comp. And had every chip and batt. out that i was able to get to by popping of the little covers on the back and let the computer sit on the table, with the power unpluged for an hour and still the same lock symbol appears. so how do i get this 2000 ibm think pad to load bios without typing in the past word. Please any info would be appreciated and i am looking foward to your comments if you need to ask futher quetions just e mail me. THANK YOU.

We are software developers only. To resolve your hardware problem you could apply to your Thinkpad computer supplier or seller.
