Hi:

I have had aak running on my dell inspiron 8200 laptop running XP pro for the last year...no probs.  I have kept up with all MSFT's patches and service packs.

On Tuesday, I downloaded the corporate install package on XP SP2 from the Microsoft website (277 megs).  It seemed to install just fine, but on the reboot the laptop went into a repeatedl reboot just as the screen "Windows is starting up" shows up.  Can not get past it.

So i F8 into Safe Mode, run "msconfig" and block all loading of drivers and applications at startup.  The computer boots normally with SP 2 installed.  Now I start bringing back everything one at a time.

With everything loaded, Except AAK, the computer boots normally.  When AAK, last of all, is allowed to load...Bam, repeated reboot.

This same download of XP Pro SP 2 was used on 2 other Dell desktops and one other Dell inpiron laptop which do not have AAK on them...no probs.

The problem clearly seems to be that SP 2 has broken AAK with disasterous results.

Since Microsoft is forcing all XP users to install SP 2 within the next 120 days or they will be blocked from using automatic download site for patches, service packs, etc.

Have there been any other reports of problems on XP SP2 and AAK?

I have now uninstalled AAK.  My laptop boots normally fully loading all drivers and services.

Is Spydex going to come up with a fix for this, or is this program history?

thanks,

Nice try, boys...back to the ol'drawing board!

After downloading and installing the new version, my bought_and_paid_for AAK reg file no longer works.

Are you sure you aren't outsourcing your programming to  Microsoft??
